Antibacterial Properties of Silver for Healthier Sleep
Even in Roman times, silver was recognized for its medicinal and therapeutic properties. Nowadays, its antibacterial properties are well recognised, and silver is contained in many health products, for example, bandages for treating burns. Wenatex has also made use of the properties in silver and developed SilverMed®. SilverMed® is the purest medicinal silver permanently combined with a textile while still retaining its textile properties. SilverMed® is used in Wenatex’sCovers, Quilts and Pillows In the Wenatex Deluxe Mattress Core and the Ergonomic pillow core, silver not as a textile but in the form of silver zeolite (synthetically produced crystalline alumosilicates) is used as an active agent. SilverMed® and silver zeolite both render bacteria and germs of all kinds harmless. With SilverMed® fibre and silver zeolite, Wenatex utilises the positive effects of silver to provide sleep comfort that not only complies with orthopaedic standards but also meets the highest levels of hygiene.

Medicinal Herbs are beneficial for Sleep
The use of medicinal herbs is especially beneficial for healthy sleep. Wenatex has developed a mixture of 17 valuable Alpine herbs for use in its Alpine Herbal Regeneration Inlay. To create the best conditions for a refreshing night’s sleep, the 17 alpine herbs have been specifically selected for their soothing, relaxing and analgesic effects:

• Hops, Lemon Balm, Chamomile, Rose and Lavender - selected for their calming effects;
• Hay Flower, Hyssop, Male Fern, Willow Bark, Field Horsetail, Elder Flower, Wild Thyme, Stinging Nettle, Yarrow, and Shepherd’s Purse - selected for their health effects; and
• Eucalyptus and Arnica – selected for their antiseptic effects.

Washable Products for Good Sleep Hygiene
Our Mattress Cover is washable in a standard washing machine at a temperature up to 60°Celsius. The Cover is made from a high quality base fabric which has outstanding washing properties. It also has a zip all the way around allowing for it to be divided into two parts and will fit into even small washing machines.

The Mattress Core cannot be washed.

The Ergonomic Pillow is made from the same outer and inner materials as the Mattress. The Cover has a zip allowing it to be washed and just like the mattress core, the Ergonomic Pillow Core cannot be washed.

The Classic Pillow has an outer cover made from 100% premium cotton-sateen which is washable. It also has an inner cambric cover filled with small fibre balls which is also washable. Both have zips so they can be washed together or separately at a temperature up to 60°Celsius in a standard washing machine. However, please leave the inner case on when washing the small fibre balls.

All of our Quilts are made from 100% premium cotton-sateen with a hollow fibre fill. All of our Quilts are fully washable at a temperature up to 60°Celsius in a standard washing machine.
